Judi Singleton

My name is Judi, and I am the founder of Well Inspired Pilates. Maybe you're curious about the name Well Inspired?

Did you know that the word 'Inspire' means to be breathed into? I like to imagine breathing out my burdens, allowing myself to be emptied, so I can be inspired - breathed into. It helps me to find my place in the world - letting go of over-responsibility, burdens, any sense of a heavy weight on my shoulders. Creating space for lightness, freedom and sometimes even joy to come.

If you have a busy lifestyle, it can be hard to find time to just switch off and breathe deeply. We take time in each of my classes to focus on the breath. Good breathing calms the nervous system and relaxes our muscles, but it also promotes the proper engagement of the core before we begin to move and strengthen. I could go on and on about the importance of good breathing all day, because I'm so passionate about its importance in feeling well.

I have first hand experience of the forgiveness, love and freedom of Jesus, and the peace He offers. This experience also inspired the name Well Inspired - like the woman at the well (in John in the New Testament of the Bible), I met with him and since then I have been sharing that, in my own way, on my mat. I love the fact that when I ask him what to say in quiet times during a practice, it's almost always an invitation for people to lay down their heavy burdens because he cares for them. To receive peace, as a gift, not earned or worked for, but as a free gift.

I run weekly classes in East London, and I am training to be a CrossYoga Instructor with Rie. We had our first CrossYoga Retreat in London this year, and hope to run more in the future. Get in touch if you'd like to connect!
